Central’s Tenboer on academic squad

PELLA—Central College first baseman Katie Tenboer (senior, Morrison, Ill.) was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team Friday, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Tenboer was a third-team pick in District VII.

An art major, Tenboer carries a 3.59 cumulative grade point average. She is a two-time academic all-Iowa Conference honoree and last year was tabbed as the league’s position player of the year. She also was a third-team NFCA Division III all-America pick. Tenboer was named the conference player of the week four times.

Tenboer leads the No. 5-ranked Dutch with a .420 batting average and a school-record 43 RBIs with 11 doubles and seven homers. She has posted a .993 fielding percentage.
