Arden Norland, 66, of Williamsburg and formerly of Keswick, died Thursday, September 2, 2010. Mass of a Christian burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sigourney at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 6, 2010. Visitation will be held at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, wake service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be in the Sorden Cemetery near Webster.Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Arden Roy Norland was born November 25, 1943 in Emmetsburg, Iowa the son of Olaf and Lucile Hantelman Norland. He was a 1962 graduate of Sentral High School. On October 26, 1974 he was united in marriage to his lifelong best friend, Mary. Arden served as an owner/operator with the ADM Company for the past twenty-one years. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Williamsburg. His hobbies and interests were his family, reading and watching programs about history, as well as his loyal friend, TuPac. He graciously spoiled his grandchildren as often as he could. Arden possessed a strong work ethic and made continuous sacrifices of his own needs to ensure his family’s well-being. Arden enjoyed gathering at dinner time on weekends and holidays with his family, where many fond memories were made. He was proud that his children turned into fine young adults and passed his family values onto his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law Ray Clubb. His legacy will be cherished by the love of his life Mary Norland of Williamsburg, his two sons: Brandon (Megan) Norland of Thompson and Adam (Mary) Norland of North Liberty; his two daughters: Nichole (Benjie) Winegarden and Lindsay (Lee) Wetjen both of Williamsburg. Arden also leaves behind a sister Vergene (Larry Mather) Schmidt of Keswick and his seven grandchildren: Sam, Ben, Taylor, Briley, Kaden, Braylon, and Grady.
