2012 Madrigal Dinners Perform To Sellout Crowds
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa High School Vocal Arts program presented the 2012 Madrigal dinner at the Musco Technology Center on the William Penn University Campus over the weekend.
The dinner is a mixture of skits, dinner and music in a Renaissance themed event.
The three shows had been sold out for days in advance with over 90 tickets sold for each dinner.
Shows were held on Friday and Saturday night beginning at 7 pm. The Sunday show began at 1 pm.
The Oskaloosa High School Chamber Orchestra joined the vocal music department in providing music during dinner.
During the dinner, a toast could be written and would then be presented in a Medieval fashion, following the theme of the program, offering a unique experience to the participants and students, guaranteeing that each dinner was a different experience.
“It just seems like a really unique experience not all high school kids will get to experience,” says Kimberly Andeway. “Their instructor has a lot of passion.”
Andeway also said that the experience builds confidence in the students who participate.
