William Penn Campus Unveils Renovated Cafeteria
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The campus at William Penn University continues to grow and reinvent itself.
This past week, the renovation project at the William Penn Cafeteria was unveiled to the public, with University President John Otteson cutting the ribbon, officially re-opening the facility.
The cafeteria is managed by Sodexo Inc. Sodexo is a multi-national company that is headquartered out of Paris, France, that has 34,000 sites around the world. Worldwide, Sodexo employes 380,000 people. The company represents 38% of all cafeteria sales in the United States.
Otteson praised the partnership William Penn has with Sodexo. “Sodexo has been a great partner for us,” said Otteson. “What you see has been a two-year work in progress.”
Otteson explained that the funding for the cafeteria renovation came from Sodexo.
In 1998, William Penn teamed up with Sodexo to provide the cafeteria service for the university. “It has been a major upgrade in service to our students,” says Otteson.
“The food is incredible,” says Otteson of the food options provided by Sodexo.
William Penn University’s Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees Joe Crookham added, “One comment, is that I think it’s really very special about the way Sodexo approaches things. The improvements they’ve made in here have not been things we’ve had to ask them to do. Sodexo comes to William Penn with suggestions about how to improve and enhance what’s here. I really appreciate the team atmosphere, the team environment Sodexo provides.”
