West’s Field Athlete of the Meet Award Tops WPU’s All-Heart List
Oskaloosa–Xzavion West (Sr., Guthrie, Ky., Psychology) used two dominant performances to earn special recognition as the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its top indoor track and field awards and all-league honorees Monday, presented by Athletic Solutions and Baron.
West was lauded as the Heart Field Athlete of the Meet. West won both the weight throw (60-10.75) and the shot put (53-8.5) to post 20 points for the navy and gold en route to the squad’s fifth-place finish at the Heart Championship last weekend.
Cody Hammond of Park was tabbed as Heart Track Athlete of the Meet, while his coach Rikki Hacker was voted as Heart Coach of the Year by his peers. Devan Sawyer (MidAmerica Nazarene) earned the league’s Assistant Coach of the Year accolade.

Micah Mills (Jr., Houston, Texas, Psychology)–48.2.75 in the triple jump
Keena Taylor (Fr., St. Petersburg, Fla., Business Management)–21.61 in the 200-meter dash
Third-team all-Heart (Third place)
Fredrick Kolla Nguimdo (Jr., Wheaton, Md., Secondary Education)–56-8.75 in the weight throw
Honorable-mention all-Heart (Fourth through sixth place)
Youssef Hamed–21.68 in the 200-meter dash (fourth)
Keena Taylor–6.82 in the 60-meter dash (fourth)
Myrhon Addison (Fr., Glennville, Ga., Sports Management)–52-1.75 in the weight throw (fourth); 49-1.5 in the shot put (sixth)
Andrew Miller (Jr., Le Claire, Iowa, Exercise Science)–8:45.79 in the 3,000-meter run (sixth)
