Vander Linden comments on recent Iowa House win

Guy Vander Linden has been a very busy person since his recent victory for Iowa House District 75.

Your thoughts now that the election is over? “Excited, finding out what the legislatures all about. Looking forward to that. I’m humbled and gratified by the vote of the people in the district, and I look forward to serving.” stated Vander Linden.

What steps are you taking now that you have won? (Orientation) “is coming up in a couple of weeks after Thanksgiving. We’ve been asked for our input on as to what committee’s we want to be on, I haven’t heard back from that yet. I expect to hear this week what committee’s I have been assigned to. And I’m getting a whole lot of mail.” joked Vander Linden.

Any other comments you would like to make to the voters,supporters that helped? “I can’t thank my supporters enough. The team that helped with the campaign, putting up signs, making calls, watching polls on election day, it’s just tremendous. We had some guys from Des Moines come down and helped out one day, just incredulous at the ground game we had, I owe those people an awful lot. And of course the people that voted for me, all I can do is try to live up to their expectations.

Vander Linden will have his first day in office when the 2011 first session of the 84th Iowa General Assembly convenes on Monday, January 10, 2011.
