Three Receive All-Heart Accolades
Oskaloosa–A trio of William Penn women’s bowlers were recognized for postseason awards as the 2025-2026 all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams were announced Sunday, presented by Athletic Solutions and Baron.
Ashley Gorman (So., Stillwater, Minn., Exercise Science) was named to the five-person second team, while the duo of Kelcey Aczon-Kawamura (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev., Nursing) and Alyssa Tanner (Fr., Traverse City, Mich., Sports Management) were two of the five individuals picked for the honorable-mention squad. An addition five bowlers garnered first-team laurels.
The honor is the first for all three Statesmen. They have guided the Statesmen to one tournament win, numerous high finishes, and a berth in next month’s USBC Singles Sectionals where WPU comes in ranked No. 13. WPU has been in the top 10 in all but one event this season.
Gorman enters Sectionals with a 193.7 average in 32 games (high game of 279). She has placed in the top 10 on three occasions and has finished in the top 25 twice.
Aczon-Kawamura currently owns a 188.9 average (31 games) with a high of 219. The senior has managed two top-25 placings.
Tanner’s 181.6 average comes in 25 games with a high of 247. She produced one top-10 effort.
