Three Earn All-Heart Honors for Performances at Championship

Oskaloosa–Three William Penn women’s track and field athletes collected postseason recognition as the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its top awards and all-league honorees Monday, presented by Athletic Solutions and Baron.

Three Statesmen picked up laurels as they helped WPU to eighth place at last weekend’s Heart Championship. That list includes Adedoyin Aderibigbe (Fr., Cedar Hill, Texas, Sociology), Phoebe Burt (Sr., Iowa City, Iowa, Sociology), and Crystal Shaw (Fr., Austin, Texas, Applied Computer Science).

Ceci Campos of Benedictine and Nike Mongwe of MidAmerica Nazarene shared the Heart Track Athlete of the Meet laurel, while Carolyn Miller of Grand View won the Field Athlete of the Meet accolade. Central Methodist’s Kenny Anderson was voted as Heart Coach of the Year by his peers, while Jacob Cofer (Benedictine) garnered the Assistant Coach of the Year honor.

The following are WPU’s all-Heart honorees:

Second-team all-Heart (Second place)
Adedoyin Aderibigbe (Fr., Cedar Hill, Texas, Sociology)–7.60 in the 60-meter dash; 24.88 in the 200-meter dash
Phoebe Burt (Sr., Iowa City, Iowa, Sociology)–43-2.25 in the shot put

Third-team all-Heart (Third place)
Crystal Shaw (Fr., Austin, Texas, Applied Computer Science)–18-5.75 in the long jump

Honorable-mention all-Heart (Fourth through sixth place)
Crystal Shaw–37-8.5 in the triple jump (fifth)
