This Day in Weather History December 26
1962: Bitterly cold weather brought the temperature all the way down into the 20s below zero across northern and northeastern Iowa and daily records were broken at numerous locations across the state. The lowest reported temperatures included -26 F at Cascade, Decorah, and Grundy Center, -27 F at Independence, Marshalltown, and Oelwein, -28 F at Cresco, and -33 F at Saratoga.
