Statesmen of the Week: Joseph Kitengie and Andressa Borges

Oskaloosa–Men’s soccer player Joseph Kitengie (Sr., Benoni, South Africa, Business Management) and women’s volleyball player Andressa Borges (Jr., Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sports Management) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of August 21-27, presented by Gardner Collier Jewelry.

Kitengie scored the lone goal in William Penn’s win over Hastings last Wednesday. He had four shots in that contest and although he did not record a tally against Friends last Saturday, the senior added four more attempts.

Borges recorded a total of 51 kills last week, including three matches in double figures. Her top outing of 17 winners came in an upset of #13 Dakota Wesleyan; she hit .452 in the victory. Overall, the junior managed to attack at a .258 clip in addition to posting 14 digs and 14 blocks (2 solos, 12 assists).
