Oskaloosa–Mia Palumbo (Jr., Oak Lawn, Ill., Exercise Science) continues to dominate on the mat, and for her efforts over the weekend she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Wrestler of the Week Monday.

Palumbo garnered her second career weekly honor (second in a row) after cruising at the Doane Conner/Oppenheim Open last Saturday.

The 109-pounder defeated all four of her opponents by technical fall en route to her third crown in as many tournaments. Her performance was highlighted by a 14-4 technical fall victory over #15 Alexsys Jacquez of Saint Mary (Kan.) in the championship matchup.

The junior, who is ranked #1 in the NAIA, is now 12-0 on the season, including 10 technical falls and one fall.

The award is the third for WPU this year.
