Osky Maroon Claims Babe Ruth Title

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Babe Ruth season came to an end over the weekend with Osky Maroon claiming the championship for the regular season as well as the tournament held June 23 and 24. The Maroon held a 32-4 record overall in the regular season.
During the regular season the 12 teams came from neighboring communities as well as five teams from Oskaloosa. This included two from Grinnell, two from Newton and three teams from Pella.
At the end of the regular season, Oskaloosa Maroon had finished on top, with Oskaloosa Black second and Oskaloosa Red in third.
The team also won the season ending league tournament, which consisted of 11 teams in a double elimination bracket. The majority of the games were held at the Lacey Complex over the two days, June 23 and 24.
During the tournament play, Oskaloosa Maroon made it through tournament play unscathed, winning games against Osky Navy and Grinnell Orange on the first day.
The second day had Maroon squaring off against Osky Red in the semifinals and Oskaloosa Black in the championship, winning 9-5.
