Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Oskaloosa Public Library recently ended its summer program where adults could compare the written word of a book versus the movie. The program collaborated with The Peppertree and Penn Centre Theater in providing prize incentives.

Adults who read a book from the library and watched the movie it was based upon could enter to win a “Date Night” that is being provided by The Peppertree and Penn Centre Theater. The library books and movies had to be checked out from Monday, June 20 until Friday, August 19th in order to be eligible for the contest drawing. The drawing was held in the Adult Reading Lounge at the Oskaloosa Public Library on the 19th at 4:30 p.m.

The “Date Night” included a $25.00 gift certificate from the Peppertree and a gift certificate for 2 movie tickets, 1 box of popcorn, 2 soft drinks and 1 box of candy from Penn Centre Theater.

With all that in mind, Wanda Gardner pulled the winning ticket from the 98 entries from 27 patrons that participated, and pulled out the entry from Kelsey Derby. Derby won with her entry of “My Sister’s Keeper”.
