Margaret Schultz
rural Gibson. Margaret Schultz, 94 of rural Gibson passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home. Visitation will begin after 2:00 pm Friday, August 19, 2011 with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Barnes City Legion, Calvary Lutheran Church of Deep River or Hospice of Iowa.
Margaret May Schultz was born to Maggie Fisher and Sam R. McKay on November 27, 1916. She graduated from Gibson High School in 1934. Margaret married Lewis Schultz on March 31, 1935. Following their marriage, Margaret stayed home to care for her children and home. Her family was the center of her life and she delighted in being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, quilting and crocheting. She always looked forward to having her entire family at her home on Christmas Eve. She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Deep River.
Margaret is survived by her six children, Dorothy Allen (Barnes City), Arva Cheney (Deep River), Ned Schultz (Barnes City), Lou Ann Perkins (Knoxville), Clifford (Sonja) Schultz (Gibson), Billy (Wanda) Schultz (Montezuma); 22 grandchildren, Mark (Diana) Tanke, Ron (Kim) Tanke, Marvin (Laurie) Tanke, Ruth (Don) Tanke, Arnold Tanke, Rose (Bill) Cooper, Rex (Julie) Cheney, Marna (Kyle) Montgomery, Wayne Cheney, Colleen Baggs, Melody (Robbie) Gray, Guy (Beth) Schultz, Mike (Karren) Perkins, Brian Perkins, Bruce Perkins, Becky (Tom) Lundeen, Bambi Molyneux, Jamie (Wade) Maxwell, Jimmie (Stacie) Schultz, Billie (Erick) Sheets, Rhae (Kirk) Lampe, Kasie (Bob) Taylor; 55 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, her parents, Sam R. McKay and Maggie McKay, a sister Eleanor Kucera, 3 sons-in-law, Arlan Allen, Jim Cheney and Myron Perkins, 1 daughter-in-law, Lil Schultz; 3 grandsons, Lonnie Cheney, Shane Schultz and John Baggs, two granddaughters, Shelly Kramer and Robin Tyler, and two great-granddaughters, Island Schultz and Morgan Steele.
