Obituary:
Louisa Frieda Havens was born on April 30, 1914 in Bloomfield, Nebraska, the daughter of Otto John Stephen Hansen and Mary Elizabeth (Clingingsmith) Hansen.
Louisa lived with her family in Nebraska, South Dakota, and then Des Moines where she graduated from East High School. She was united in marriage to Theodore A. Havens on November 30, 1940 in Des Moines. The two made Des Moines their home until moving to Milo and Carlisle and then Pleasantville in 1976. Louisa worked in the kitchen at the Carlisle School for 10 years and also at the Village Café in Pleasantville. She also helped her daughter Alberta out in her tax business.
She was a member of the Pleasantville Baptist Church and also the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Louisa enjoyed traveling to visit her family and was a very hard working woman.
Louisa passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010 at her home at the age of 96 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Theodore in 1976; brothers, Emil, Henry, Walter and Otto Hansen; sister, Johanna Smedley.
Survivors include her children; John (Shirley) Havens of Des Moines, Mary (Don) Chidester of Sheridan, WY, Otto (Mary Ann) Havens of Florissant, MO, Emma Black of Seattle, WA, Dorothy (John) Rullman of Altoona, Alan (Diane) Havens of Tiffin, Alberta Kibbie of Des Moines; brother, William Hansen of Carlisle, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
