Jean Ferryman was born in Omaha, NE on May 9, 1929. He was a devoted to the Catholic faith all of his life and attended and graduated from Creighton Preparotory High School, a Jesuit Catholic School. He played baseball in high school and continued to do so when he went onto the University of Notre Dame. He graduated from college in 1951 with a bachelor’s degree.

Jean served in the Coast Guard. When his service to his country was completed he moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa where he worked as an assistant manager for Montgomery Wards department store. It was there that he met his life long companion and one true love, Elda Mason.

Elda and Jean married on June 29, 1957. The department store transferred him to Burlington, Iowa. He soon began his career in the insurance industry and through transfers from one office to another, he and his wife lived in a variety of states. Some of the places they called home were Santa Ana, California, Denver and Arvada, Colorado and Seattle, Washington as well as back to his home in Omaha. After retirement Elda and Jean moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Retirement didn’t suit him so he began working as a Vice-President for the Frank Benites Financial Group and 10 years later at the US Airways Center Stadium on a part-time basis. He loved the job because it kept him busy and later he got to see every sporting event from the VIP section.

Jean loved having a good time, watching and participating in sports, gathering with good friends and his wife. When Jean was your friend he was your friend forever.

Jean was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 53 years. He will be missed my many life long friends.
