Half Dozen Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Oskaloosa–A six-pack of Statesmen football players were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Liam Bryant (Sr., Jackson, Mo., Physical Education) tops the grouping with a 3.98 Grade Point Average, while Nasear Cumberbatch (So., St. Petersburg, Fla., Business Management) is also above the 3.9 mark at 3.92. Both individuals are now two-time recipients.

Hayden Vandenberg (So., West Burlington, Iowa, Physical Education), a first-time honoree, is next at 3.78, while Cole Britton (Jr., Jackson, Mo., Industrial Technology), at 3.75, is a three-time award winner.

Adrian Ayala (Sr., Cerritos, Calif., Sports Management) (3.65) and Dylan Frulla (Sr., Cordova, Tenn., Exercise Science) (3.56) are both receiving the accolade for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
