George Again Tabbed as Academic All-American

Oskaloosa–Nick George (Sr., Sarina, Ontario, Sociology) once again was chosen as one of the top scholar-athletes in the NAIA as the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America baseball teams were announced Tuesday.

George was one of 12 individuals named to the Second Team, matching his award from the 2023 campaign. An additional 11 players collected First-Team recognition.

The designated hitter, who owned a 3.75 Grade Point Average entering the spring semester, is the third CSC Academic All-American in baseball history and is the first to earn multiple awards. The 18th CSC Academic All-American in William Penn athletics history, George is also the second ever to win multiple accolades (Sarah Ridley, women’s soccer, 2001 and 2002).

The prestigious award from CSC (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America) recognizes athletes for their performances on the field and in the classroom.

The senior hit .381 (59-for-155) in 2024 with 15 doubles, one triple, and nine home runs. He tallied 40 RBIs and 44 runs scored, while also picking up 25 walks and being hit by pitch on nine occasions. George recorded 17 multiple-hit games during his final collegiate season.

To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Additional competition criteria is also required.
