Five Receive NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards

Oskaloosa–Five members of the William Penn men’s cross country team were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2025 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The trio of Andrew Miller (Jr., Le Claire, Iowa, Exercise Science), Sutton Shively (So., Bloomfield, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering), and Carson Springer (Jr., Grimes, Iowa, Business Management) all own 4.0 Grade Point Averages entering the fall.

Gavin Huff (Jr., Mascoutah, Ill., Mechanical Engineering) is next at 3.85, while Jordan Davis (Sr., Loomis, Calif., Political Science) also meets the criteria at 3.59.

The award is the second for Miller and Springer, while the remaining three harriers are all first-time honorees.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
