Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of the December Player of the Month awards.

Sophomore track and field athlete Tristen Elmore (Ovied, Fla., Physical Education) earned the Male award, while sophomore bowler Bailey Palmer (Ottumwa, Iowa, Undecided) took home the Female honor. The accolade is the first for both individuals.

In his season-opening meet, Elmore qualified in two events, doing so in the high jump and long jump. He won both events, posting a mark of 6-6.75 in the high jump and 22-10 in the long jump. The sophomore was also third in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.02 seconds. Elmore was a one-time Heart of America Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.

In three tournaments, Palmer owned a 190.3 pin average in 21 games with a high game of 243. She managed to eclipse the 200-pin mark five times. The sophomore placed in the top 25 in all three tournaments and guided William Penn to top-half finishes in each event.
