Obituary:
Christina M. Zeimet was born July 14, 1920 in Whittemore, Iowa the daughter of Otto and Mary Ann (Wiltgen) Kenne.
She was raised in Whittemore and graduated from St. Michael’s High School, where she played on the girl’s basketball team. On October 18, 1938 she was united in marriage to Eugene Zeimet at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Whittemore. Christina and Eugene lived in the Whittemore area until moving to their family farm near Bode, Iowa. Following Eugene’s death, Christina moved to Humboldt in the 1980’s. In 2005, she moved to Knoxville to be near her son, Patrick. Christina worked for several years as a clerk at Harrison’s in Algona and later as a Nurse aid at the Humboldt nursing home.
In her spare time, Christina enjoyed quilting and playing cards and dominos. She liked gardening and taking care of her flowers.
Christina passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2010 at the Comfort house, in Pella, at the age of 90 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; an infant brother, Casper Kenne and two sisters, Elizabeth Doerning and Catherine Curtis.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Robert Zeimet (Karen) of Bakersfield, California; Mary Susan Moore (Glenn) of Sacramento, California; Elizabeth Orr (Tom) of Sacramento, California; David Zeimet (Marge) of Blairstown, Iowa and Patrick Zeimet ( Karen) of Knoxville, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Letitia Neuroth of Manchester, Iowa and many other family members and friends.
