Single Car Accident On 92 Ends In Rollover

Mahaska County Sheriff's Office

Oskaloosa, Iowa – A single vehicle accident happened at 2:43 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 11 miles East of Oskaloosa. The 2002 Ford Ranger being driven by Lynette Sievers was traveling Eastbound on Highway 92 near the North Skunk River bridge and was towing a U-Haul trailer. In what appears to be a malfunction, the hitch ball came loose from the truck hitch.

The trailer began to whip from side to side causing the Ranger to cross the center line, striking the Westbound, or North, side of the Skunk River bridge. The Ford Ranger then went back into the Eastbound lane striking the bridge and jack knifing the truck, causing it to roll onto its left side.

Reports of injuries were unavailable at this time.
