Supervisors Hire Auditors For Upcoming Fiscal Years
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Monday, February 1st, 2021, starting at 9 am.
The Board set to the task of accepting a bid for the audit services of the fiscal years 2021, 2022, and 2023.
The service’s cost and what each of the bidding entities says comes with their bid was considered.
Supervisors Steve Wanders and Chuck Webb said that utilizing a different auditor would put a fresh set of eyes on the audit but eventually settled on using Hunt and Associates from Oskaloosa as their choice to keep taxpayer money local.
The motion passed unanimously.
The Board went into a closed session to consider property purchase for the new radio tower system.
Ultimately, after the closed session, the Board agreed to accept the appraised value on the three properties and move ahead on the purchase.
In other matters, the Board approved a letter of support for the demolition of a building located at 120 East Main in Fremont. The county wasn’t responsible for any financial portion of the demolition, just a letter of support to enable grant funding.
The Board also approved a resolution providing for the support of the Area 15 Regional Planning Commission, which is funded on a per capita basis.
The Mahaska County Board of Supervisors’ next scheduled meeting is February 15th, 2021, at 9 am inside the 3rd-floor conference room at the Mahaska County Courthouse.
