WPU Competes at GVU Field Meet

Des Moines–Elayna VanArsdale (Jr., Bensalem, Pa., Secondary Education) improved upon her league ranking as she guided the William Penn track and field teams at the Grand View Field Meet Tuesday.
VanArsdale was third in both the weight throw at 50-4 and in the shot put at 38-2.75. She moves up to fourth in the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the weight throw and 10th in the shot put.
“I am very happy for Elayna,” Head Coach Allen Friesen said. “She has worked very hard and it finally came together for her tonight.”
Sage Ehresman (Jr., Sully, Iowa, Exercise Science) topped the men by taking second in the shot put at 49-6.5, while Matthew Cuthbert (Sr., Yucaipa, Calif., Sociology) finished seventh in the event at 43-10.
Next Up: William Penn travels to Crete, Neb. next Friday and Saturday to compete in the Heart Championships.
