William Penn Graduates Ready For Tomorrow
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Every school year starts off with apprehension and uncertainty. For the incoming freshmen class, those fears of separation and the anxiety have been alleviated, and the focus is turning towards the next year of school.
2016 William Penn University Seniors are facing many of those same anxieties and fears, as they walk across that stage to receive their degree and face whatever the future holds for them. For many, there is no returning next year to class, instead they face the wide world and making their dreams come true.
Jim H. Davis presented the graduating students their commencement address. Davis’s family can trace their history at William Penn University back to 1895, when his grandfather and grandmother graduated from William Penn. Members of Davis’s family include Edwin McGrew, who became the 8th and 13th President of William Penn.
For outgoing William Penn Senior Shane Bosek, “This place, and the people I have met throughout my three years at William Penn, is going to forever hold a spot in my heart. Corny, yes; True, absolutely. The love and support I have been shown here and the relationships I’ve built is unreal. I am truly gonna miss this place.”
