Wells, Golomski Honored for January

Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of January’s Player of the Month awards.

Senior men’s basketball player Oliver Wells (Cedar Hill, Texas, Business Management) won the Male award, while senior women’s basketball player Katie Golomski (Milwaukee, Wis., Psychology & Sociology) took the Female honor. The award is the first for both student-athletes.

Wells averaged 18.6 points (high of 26), 4.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists in addition to 11 steals and one block. Shot 41% from the field (38% 3-PT) and 79% from the line. He led the team in scoring three times (WPU was 3-4 in January) and had one double-double with 20 points and 13 assists against ranked Mount Mercy.

Golomski averaged 10.5 points (high of 23), 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in addition to three blocks and three steals. She shot 44% from the field (44% 3-PT) and 83% from the line. The senior led her team in scoring three times (WPU was 4-4 in January).
