Oskaloosa–Elise Warne (Sr., Melbourne, Australia, Exercise Science) posted the best tournament performance of her career and her efforts were more than good enough to earn Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honors Monday.
Warne collected her seventh career weekly honor (second of the year) by guiding the Statesmen to their second-consecutive tourney crown and fifth in a row.
The senior opened the Briar Cliff Lila Frommelt Classic with a 73 and then closed with a 75 to win the event title, her eighth in the navy and gold. Warne’s 148 ties for the third-lowest 36-hole score in school history and is the lowest in her career.
Warne owns a 75.0 stroke average in four rounds. She has won back-to-back events to start her senior campaign (eight total at WPU).
The award is WPU’s second of the season.
