Statesmen of the Week: Max Finley and Elizabeth Hele

Oskaloosa–Cross country runners Max Finley (Fr., Richville, N.Y., Secondary Education) and Elizabeth Hele (Sr., Victorville, Calif., Biology) been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of September 5-11, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Finley paced William Penn at the St. Ambrose Invitational last Saturday with an 8K time of 27:42 to take fifth overall. He helped the navy and gold to a third-place finish in the team race.

Hele topped WPU’s females at the same meet, crossing the finish line in 15th place in a time of 22:14. Her efforts in the 5K race guided the Statesmen to a bronze in the team standings.
