Six Lauded by NAIA as Scholar-Athletes
Oskaloosa–Six members of the William Penn women’s golf team were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2022-2023 NAIA Scholar-Athletes Monday.
Courtney Jackson (Sr., Liberty Lake, Wash., New Media) leads the group with a 3.92 Grade Point Average entering the spring, while Carlee Frayne (Jr., Garner, Iowa, Sport Management) is next at 3.87.
Katlyn Killeen (Sr., Overland Park, Kan., Business Management) follows closely behind at 3.85, while Jaclyn Wojciechowski (Sr., Graytown, Ohio, Business Management) had a 3.78 at the start of the semester.
Madison Blake (Sr., Surprise, Ariz., Business Management), at 3.66, and Olivia Cramer (So., Lawton, Mich., Civil Engineering), at 3.52, also reached the standard.
Blake, Killeen, and Wojciechowski now all have three Scholar-Athlete awards, while Frayne and Jackson are two-time honorees. The award is the first for Cramer.
Nearly 350 women’s golfers from within the NAIA were awarded the laurel.
To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
