Six Garner NAIA Scholar-Athlete Awards

Oskaloosa–Six members of the William Penn women’s volleyball team were honored for their excellence in the classroom as they were named 2024 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Emma Stephens (Sr., Stonewall, Manitoba, Psychology) headed the group with a 3.95 Grade Point Average entering the fall.

Jade Melton (Hallsville, Mo., Psychology) was next at 3.82, while Emilie Bojorquez-McFadden (So., Surprise, Ariz., Undecided) was right behind her at 3.81.

Cate Hahn (Sr., St. Charles, Mo., Biology) (3.76), Kaya Caprini (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn., Psychology) (3.61), and Nicholaa Phillippe (Jr., Belle Plaine, Iowa, Psychology) (3.51) also met the criteria.

The award is the second for third for Hahn and Stephens, while Melton is now a two-time honoree. The remaining honorees are being lauded for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, have attended the nominating institution for one full year prior to nomination, and must appear on the sport’s eligibility paperwork.
