Sally Jo Evans, 70, of Oskaloosa, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the Northern Mahaska Specialty Care Center in Oskaloosa under Hospice care. She was born on August 24, 1950, the daughter of Samuel Rodman Sr. and Peggy Joann (Wymore) Spratt in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Sally attended Oskaloosa Schools.
On June 3, 1967 she was united in marriage to Robert Evans. To this union 2 children were born, Robert Jr. and Scott. Together they shared 45 years of marriage until Robert passed away on April 18, 2013.
Sally was a homemaker for most of her life, raising her family and taking care of her home. She also worked at Pleasant Park Care Facility for 40 years in the kitchen, until retiring in 2013.
Family was the center of Sally’s life, especially her children and grandchildren.
Her family includes her two children, Robert “Bob” Jr. (& Cecelia) Evans of Oskaloosa and Scott Alan Evans of Oskaloosa; 5 grandchildren: Josh (& Abby) Evans, Jake Evans, Abby (& Dustin) Voss, Tyler (& Cara) Evans and Jenna (& Devion) Versendaal all of Oskaloosa; 7 great grandchildren: Spencer and Evyn Voss, Benson Evans, Jamie Evans, Roselyn and Alaythia Versendaal and Kane Evans. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Spratt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Evans Sr; her parents, Samuel and Peggy Spratt; a daughter in infancy, Jody Evans; and a brother, Samuel Rodman Spratt Jr.
As was Sally’s wish her body will cremated and a private family graveside will be held at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
