Sally Miller, 86, of Oskaloosa, peacefully passed away at the Mahaska Health Serenity house on March 2, 2021, following a two-year battle with lung cancer. Sally was born August 1, 1934 in Keokuk, Iowa to Warren and Iva (Sullivan) Hull.

The family (including her parents and brother Bill) moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa where she attended elementary and high school. The family transferred to Missouri for her father’s job her senior year. However, Sally moved back to finish her senior year at Oskaloosa Senior High, staying with the Kilpatrick family. After graduating she attended Park College in St. Louis and then Simpson college in Indianola where she pledged Tri Delta Sorority.

Sally married her HS sweetheart Garry Lewis August 14, 1955. Together they had 4 children: Jana, Julie, Kara and Scott. Garry died on September 30, 1990, at the age of 56. Sally married Robert Miller December 1994. Bob died on May 31, 2020.

Sally loved to golf, travel, golf, camp, golf, and spend her winters in Arizona so she could golf. She was a member of Chapter X PEO, Prairie Knolls Country Club, and the Central United Methodist Church.

In addition to her two husbands, Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Iva Hull; mother and father-in-law, Paul and Eilleen Lewis; a daughter, Kara Thomas; and brother-in-law, Jerry Wood.

Those left to remember her are her daughters: Jana (& Gene) Bandstra of New Sharon and Julie (& Marvin) Knoot of New Sharon; a son, Scott (& Amy) Lewis of Shawnee Kansas; a stepson, Scott (& Emily) Miller of Oskaloosa; Grandchildren: Jenell (& Brad) Steel of New Sharon, Brandon (& Melissa) Bandstra of New Sharon, Josh (& Mackie) Van Rees of Walford, Whitney (& Jacoby) Tremmel of Oskaloosa, Melissa Knoot of Ames, Isaac (& Liz) Knoot of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Isaiah (& Amanda) Knoot of Marion, Kayne Thomas of Pella, Kaylie Thomas of Maryville Missouri, Brooke (& Andy) Weathers of Nashville Tennessee, and Alex and Zach Lewis of Shawnee KS; great grandchildren: Kassidi Steel, Braden Steel, Bailee Bandstra, Sydney Bandstra, Aila Knoot, Beckett Knoot and Aunna Knoot. She is also survived by her brother, Bill (& Barb) Hull of Lake Forest, California; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Wood of Oskaloosa.

Open visitation will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, family will not be present.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Prairie Knolls Country Club in New Sharon or MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.
