Oskaloosa, Iowa – Penn Central Theatres will premier Oskaloosa’s first 3D movie, Finding Nemo 3D, on Friday, September 14. Penn Central theatre has undergone recent renovations and upgrades making this the first time that the Mahaska Community will enjoy the 3D experience locally.

Under new management, Penn Central Theatre has been thoroughly cleaned and also has digital conversion, in addition to 3D movies. “This gives movie-goers a higher quality experience and keeps entertainment dollars in our local economy,” said Penn Central Mall Manager Patti Ryan.

“We are excited to be able to update the viewing experience for our Oskaloosa location,” said Brian Fridley, Vice President of Operations. “The theatre’s conversion to digital and 3D is an exciting opportunity for our visitors. Customers will have the same level of viewing experience that they would have in a larger city.”

Digital conversion is another recent change for the Penn Central Theatres. “Fans will notice a clearer, sharper image at all movies thanks to the digital equipment conversion,” said Fridley.

“Since taking over management in July of this year, we have focused our attention on improving the customer experience at Penn Central Theatre,” said Alison Meyer, District Manager for Fridley Theatres. “We want the movie experience to be pleasant and rewarding.”

The theatre underwent a thorough cleaning in August. “Customers have been amazed at how nice the chairs and floors look now that the cleaning has been finished,” said Jarred Stevens, interim manager.

“I have been impressed by the Fridley team and their attention to the atmosphere and customer experience,” said Patti Ryan, Penn Central Mall Manager. “The Fridley team is committed to bringing the most current technology to the Mahaska community.”

Ticket prices will remain the same for 2D movies: $6 for adults in the evening and $4 for children, matinees, and senior citizens. There will be an up charge of $3 for all 3D movies: $9 for adults in the evening and $7 for children, matinees, and senior citizens.
