OSKALOOSA JV GOLF OPENS SEASON WITH STRONG START IN CHILLY KNOXVILLE
KNOXVILLE, Iowa — The Oskaloosa junior varsity boys golf team opened its with a meet in Knoxville, showing solid early progress despite cold conditions.
The meet marked the first competition of the year for a group that includes many inexperienced players. Even with that in mind, the team delivered a steady performance and showed signs of potential moving forward.
Oskaloosa had a strong showing across the lineup. Six players from the JV1 squad finished with scores in the 40s, indicating balanced play throughout the team. The JV2 group, competing in its first meet, also performed well and gained valuable experience.
Leading the way for Oskaloosa was Collin Netland, who shot a 42. His score was just three strokes off the lead, making it one of the top performances of the day.
The cool temperatures added an extra challenge, but the team handled the conditions and stayed competitive. Coaches noted there is still work to be done, but the first meet provided a good starting point for the season.
Oskaloosa will look to build on this performance as the season continues, focusing on improving consistency and gaining more experience on the course.
