Oskaloosa Boys Track Brings Home PRs from Windy Tulip Time Relays
Pella, Iowa — Battling heavy winds and tough conditions, the Oskaloosa boys track and field team competed Monday evening at the Tulip Time Co-Ed Relays hosted by Pella High School. Despite the gusts that swept across the track—strong enough to joke that tulips were blowing off their stems—the Indians walked away with six new personal records and a string of top-five finishes.
Using the meet as a chance to explore new events and push for season-best performances, Oskaloosa turned in several solid relay efforts. The 4×200-meter relay team of Reid Luck, Blake Herny, Dre Bullock, and Sam Nelson placed 4th with a time of 1:39.55. The 4×100 relay team (Aiden Todey, Carter Jordan, Jalin Woodard, Parker Jordan) finished 5th in 47.55 seconds. Other 5th-place relay finishes came in the sprint medley (1:48.10), distance medley (4:26.74), and 4×400 (4:06.37).
In individual events, Jalin Woodard placed 6th in the 100-meter dash (12.31), while Carter Jordan took 7th in the 110-meter hurdles (18.35). Aiden Todey also earned 7th in the 200 meters (26.27). Kien Bryan cleared 5’2” to finish 5th in the high jump.
Highlighting the night were six personal records: Iwy Buchanan, Dre Bullock, Tre Bullock, Carter Jordan, Aiden Todey, and Micah VanEe each recorded new bests in their respective events.
The Indians will have little time to rest, as the team turns around quickly to compete Tuesday night at Sigourney.
