Marjorie Wickham, 94 formerly of New Sharon passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, December 14, 2016 at Wesley Acres Health Care Center in Des Moines.
Marjorie Cornette Wickham, the daughter of Fred and Velma (McCain) Heitsman, was born on March 21, 1922 in New Sharon, Iowa.

Marjorie graduated from New Sharon High School in 1939. On May 24th, 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage to Ralph Burggraaf in Unionville, MO. To this union two daughters were born, Sally Rae and Diane Kay. Ralph passed away suddenly in 1962. On February 25, 1972, Marjorie married Robert Wickham and they farmed east of New Sharon. Robert passed away in 1996.

Marjorie spent her life working in and around New Sharon. She worked at Fowler’s Grocery, Beal’s Grocery, Pella Products, Harkema Chevolet and the Montezuma Sale Barn.

Marjorie was a member of the New Sharon First Christian Church, Sunny Circle Club, 50 Plus Club, New Sharon Historical Society and Agency on Aging. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting.

Marjorie is survived by two sons-in-law, Donald Hicks and Randy Terlouw; five grandchildren: Sheryl Terlouw of Des Moines, Jon (& Lori) Terlouw of Bentonville, AR, Denise (& Thomas) Wilbur of Bridge City, TX, Dana (& Harry) Hoffner of Howell, MI and Donna (& Frank) West of Tallahassee, FL; eight great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her two daughters, Sally Terlouw and Diane Hicks; and three sisters and their husbands: Violet (& Homer) Taylor, Charlotte (& Willis) Pease and Alberta (& Roger) Davis.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held in the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Sharon Historical Society.
