OSKALOOSA, Iowa – September 4th, 2018. Local Alternative Rock Band Moonlighting (containing two members from Oskaloosa and two members from Ottumwa) had their song “Shine” selected to be included on the soundtrack of the new NASCAR Heat 3 video game coming to stores on September 7th. The young band, which played their first show back in April, will celebrate the occasion with a free concert at the Oskaloosa Art Center on Saturday September 8th at 7PM.

The band released their Demo in April and caught the attention of game developer 704 Games, who licensed the song for use on the soundtrack. On the surprise of being selected, lead guitarist Joel Buckallew of Oskaloosa commented: “for a relatively new band, it was a shock to find out we were even on their radar, let alone being picked for the soundtrack.”

The concert on Saturday will also feature a performance from Ottumwa band TV Cop and Oskaloosa singer/songwriter Jesse Voss. Bass player TJ Wilt of Ottumwa commented “it’s so exciting to be representing Ottumwa and Iowa on such a national scale!” Attendees of the show on the 8th will get a chance to play the game and go head to head at their favorite track to win prizes from the game developers.
