Kristina Potts, 57, of Oskaloosa died Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born January 19, 1960, in Trenton, Missouri, the daughter of Ronald and Barbara Chado Potts.

Kristina graduated from Trenton High School in 1979. Following high school, she attended William Jewell College for one year.

Kristina enjoyed poetry and was a classical guitarist. She was ahead of her time in that she enjoyed coloring in coloring books before adult coloring books became popular.

Kristina was a very determined individual, if there was someplace she wanted to go she would walk. She walked all over Oskaloosa no matter what the weather. She also enjoyed going to the Library to read and enjoy the reading garden.

Her family includes her two uncles, Robert “Bob” Chado of Colorado and Dick Chado of California; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Bruce Wittern officiating.
Private burial will be in the Forest Cemetery on Friday morning. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Open visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time at 4 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Oskaloosa Public Library.
