Kids’ Science Project Exhibitions At the Environmental Learning Center

We are “Rockin’ Science” at the Environmental Learning Center!

Science Fair-type projects are great learning opportunities for kids. The Mahaska County Conservation Board is providing kids of all ages an opportunity to make a “science fair-type” project to be on display at the Environmental Learning Center. Visitors to the Environmental Learning Center will be able to see what kids have made and leave comments to share what they liked about the projects.

Kids can sign up to display their science project for a month during January through April. Sign up in the link below by choosing which month and topic your child wants to create a display. Please sign up each child once.

Project display boards are not to exceed 36″ x 48″. Props and hands-on items are allowed if it fits in front of the display board. Topics for each month are:

January “Energy & Motion”
February “Solar Systems”
March “Weather”
April “Ecosystems”

Projects are to be brought to the Environmental Learning Center by the first Monday of each month and taken home by the last Friday of each month. If you have questions, please contact Laura DeCook, MCCB Naturalist, at (641)673-9327 Ext. 2 or at decook@mahaskacounty.org.
