Joan Christine Norris, formerly of Hedrick, Iowa, passed away on October 1, 2015 at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, NE. She was 89. Joan was born on August 21, 1926 in Hedrick, Iowa to Marion Jackson and Katherine (Kriese) Craft.

On May 21, 1944 she was united in marriage to Harold Keith Norris in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Joan was a lifetime resident of Hedrick, Iowa until moving to Alliance 4 years ago. She was a member of the Hedrick Christian Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 60 years, various neighborhood clubs and the Land Improvement Contractors Association. For many years she worked with the Hedrick Community School Lunch Program. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking for her family and she was an avid NASCAR fan.

Her is survived by her children: Larry (& Debbie) Norris of West Memphis, AR, Kathy Shimp of Alliance, NE, Jim (& Miriam) Norris of Woodbury, MN and Connie (& Bob) Fisher of Grand Junction, CO; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold; her son-in-law, Denny Shimp; her 2 brothers; and her 3 sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
Inurnment will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa
Memorials may be given in care of the Hedrick American Legion Auxiliary.
