Hospice Memorial Trees moved to Serenity Gardens

Hospice Memorial Trees moved to Serenity Gardens (submitted photo)

Oskaloosa, Iowa – As construction on Mahaska Health Partnership’s new Patient Care Wing moves forward, the healthcare campus continues to change. Evergreen trees that were planted in front the Medical Specialty Center as part of previous Hospice Memorial Services had to be relocated to make way for a new canopy that will connect the current structure with the new wing. The evergreens are near and dear to the hearts of many as they were planted to honor hospice patients during the annual Community Memorial Service. The Memorial Service, co-sponsored by Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp and the Mahaska Hospice Auxiliary, will be held this year on Wednesday, May 30 at 7:00 pm under the portico at the MHP Hospice Serenity House. A new memorial tree will be planted, and will join the transplanted evergreens, in the future home of the Serenity Gardens.
