GRINNELL’S BRUCE NAMED TO AT-LARGE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT FIRST TEAM

GRINNELL, Iowa – Record-setting Grinnell College diver Kelly Bruce ’12 has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large First Team for the 2011-12 campaign.

Bruce is the Grinnell school record-holder in one- and three-meter diving with scores of 483.85 and 498.75, respectively. She is a seven-time Midwest Conference champion and three-time MWC Diver of the Year.

Bruce has earned All-America honorable mention honors in one-meter diving, been named Scholar All-America and is a multiple Academic All-Conference selection.

The All-District squads are chosen by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). By being named first-team Academic All-District, Bruce advances to the Academic All-America ballot. That team will be announced within the next month.
