Fridley Theatres Returns to Oskaloosa
Oskaloosa, Iowa – After a two- year absence from the Oskaloosa area, Fridley Theatres will resume management of the Penn Central Theatre in Oskaloosa. According to Alison Meyer, District Manager for Fridley Theatres, “We plan to have the transition completed quickly and continue to build on Oskaloosa’s rich entertainment history.”
Fridley Theatres has a rich history of operating theaters in Iowa and Nebraska. Bob Fridley, who started Fridley Theatres, operated his first theatre in New Sharon. From that humble beginning, Fridley Theatres has grown to 92 screens in 21 Iowa communities and 2 communities in Nebraska.
According to Patti Ryan, Penn Central Mall Manager, “Penn Central Mall is excited to have Fridley Theatres return to our community. Fridley provides a high level of personal service and quality motion picture entertainment.”
“Fridley Theatres has watched the Oskaloosa community for the last several years. With the recent recreational additions, such as the Urban Park, we felt the time was right for us to be a part of that prosperity,” state Alison Meyer.
“Our immediate goal is to keep the theatre open and providing a great entertainment option for the area,” said Brian Fridley, Vice-President of operations for Fridley Theatres. “Long-term, we plan to look at increased viewing options such as 3-D. The motion picture industry is rapidly changing. With our number of theatres and screens, we will be able to provide Mahaska County quality entertainment”
