Four Garner CSC Academic All-District Honors

Oskaloosa–Four William Penn men’s soccer players were honored for strong 2024 seasons in and out of the classroom as they earned academic all-district honors from College Sports Communicators.

Hugo Cornish (So., Sydney, Australia, Business Management) headlines the quartet with a 3.72 Grade Point Average entering this fall as well as an impressive stat line. In 21 games played (17 starts) entering Wednesday’s NAIA National Championship Round of 16 contest versus Bethel (Ind.), the sophomore has scored 11 goals with nine assists for 31 points. Cornish has recorded three game-winners so far this year.

Daniel Wilson (Sr., Dublin, Ireland, Wellness and Recreation) owns a 3.52 GPA while competing in 21 games (21 starts). The defenseman has helped the navy and gold post 10 shutouts so far in 2024.

Alessandro Bedei (Grad., Cesena, Italy, Business Management) has a 3.50 GPA and, alongside Wilson, has been instrumental in William Penn permitting just 0.79 goals per game. He has been in 17 matchups with 16 starts this year.

In 22 games, Moses Magens (Grad., Elmshorn, Germany, Master’s of Sports Management) has notched one goal with two assists. Magens owns a 3.50 GPA in his graduate studies.

The award combines both athletic and academic achievements. To be eligible for the award, individuals must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been enrolled at the nominating institution for one year (transfers use grades from their previous institution), and have a 3.50 Grade Point Average. Additionally, individuals must compete in 90% of games or start in at least 66% of games.
