February Booster Club Honors to Schwab, Alexander

Oskaloosa–The William Penn University Athletics Booster Club has announced the recipients of February’s Player of the Month awards.
Senior men’s basketball player Alec Schwab (Peru, Ill., Business Management) won the Male award, while junior women’s indoor track and field athlete Tarah Alexander (Cedar, Iowa, Physical Education) took the Female honor. The award is the fourth in Schwab’s career and the second for Alexander.
Schwab averaged 22.3 points (high of 31) and 6.0 rebounds in addition to 19 steals, 11 assists, and two blocks. He shot 39% from the field and 84% from the line. He led the team in scoring five times and helped WPU to the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament Finals. The senior tallied two double-doubles.
Alexander raced in two meets, breaking the school record in the 800-meter run on both occasions. The junior won the race at the MCC Championships in a time of 2:20.05 to qualify for nationals.
