Oskaloosa–Tristen Elmore (So., Ovied, Fla., Physical Education) bettered his high jump mark and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Monday.

Elmore garnered his second career Field award (third award ever) as he posted a season best at the Dubuque Sol Butler Classic Saturday.

The sophomore, who had already qualified for nationals in December, improved his mark to an automatic-qualifying standard height of 6-9. He won the competition and is currently first in the Heart and second in the entire NAIA in the event.

Elmore was strong in the sprints as well, placing third in the 200-meter dash (22.79 seconds) and fifth in the 55-meter dash (6.66 seconds).

The award is the second for the men’s track and field team.
