Dane Jonathon Vetter, age 26, of Ollie, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Fairfield, Iowa. Dane was born on December 14, 1993 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Scott and Kellie (Helland Conger) Vetter.

Dane attended Pekin High School and graduated with the Class of 2012. He played little league baseball and was later influenced by his brother to wrestle, he wrestled peewee through high School for Pekin. He later attended Indian Hills for a time until he went down to Texas and learned the skills of how to be a locksmith. Dane came back to Iowa and started working for the Lock Doctor in Fairfield. He loved his job and was talented at his craft.

Dane loved to tinker with things, taking things apart and putting them back together to understand how things worked. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, reading, music and was a huge movie buff. Dane was fascinated with his family’s Norwegian heritage and enjoyed researching Viking culture. Above all else, Dane was a caring soul who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He has a special love for his dogs Molly and Ollie.

He is survived by his parents, Scott Vetter of Ollie and Kellie (& Michael) Pierce of Oskaloosa; his two brothers, Dalton Vetter of Richland, Iowa and Dawson Vetter of Ollie, Iowa; his paternal and maternal grandmothers, Jane Vetter of Washington, Iowa and Dee Conger (a step grandfather, Darus Haas) of Vancouver, Washington; his uncles: Steve (& Kathy) Vetter of Washington, Iowa, Mark (& Jan) Vetter of Columbus Junction, Iowa, and Brian Vetter of Boise, Idaho; his aunt, Gina (& Teresa Schlosser) Helland of Vancouver, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandfathers, Virgil Vetter and Paul Conger.

As was Danes wish, his body will be cremated and a memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00 am in the Trinity Friends Church in Richland with Reverend Tim Hadley officiating.
Burial will be in the Van Orsdoll Cemetery at a later date. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event.
Visitation will begin Friday after 1:00 p.m. in the Fremont Funeral Chapel. The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7 pm to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family.
