Central gets another women’s basketball road victory

STORM LAKE – Firing off 11 made 3-point field goals, the Central College women’s basketball team rolled to a 78-61 win over Buena Vista University Saturday.

Central (6-2, 2-0 American Rivers Conference) used the deep ball to secure its second conference road win of the week. Senior guard Jadyn Filling (Ankeny) made five 3-pointers while junior forward Abbey Bence (Burlington, West Burlington HS) added three. Filling led the team with 15 points while Bence had 13.

Also scoring in doubles figures were guards Emily Naughton (junior, Indianola) and Jasmyn Williams (senior, Commerce City, Colo., Arvada West HS), with 11 and 10, each. Forwards CeCe Moore (junior, Waterloo, West HS) and Bailey Reding (senior, Grundy Center) had six rebounds apiece. Williams had seven rebounds and three steals.

The Dutch women have a home game on Saturday at 4 p.m. against the University of Dubuque.
