BREAKING NEWS – Fatal Shooting in Albia
**Release from Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Below**
The Albia Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department are conducting a homicide investigation.
On February 5th, 2011 at 12:11pm, the Monroe County 911 Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting at 113 Linden Lane in Albia.
Responding Authorities found a white male adult, later identified as Gary Davis, 60, suffering from multiple injuries.
Gary Davis was transported to the Monroe County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
At 1:03pm Clark County law enforcement arrested Richard J Davis, 73 of Albia, on the charge of Murder in the First Degree.
Richard Davis and Gary Davis are brothers.
Richard Davis is currently in custody at the Monroe County Jail in Albia.
The Monroe County Sherriff’s Department is being assisted by the Clark County Sherriff’s Department, Department of Transportation, the Iowa State Patrol and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilty.
