Beyond the Cheers: Hawkeye Conference Students Unite to Redefine Sportsmanship

Students from across the Hawkeye Conference work together on posters and cheer one another on during a conference-wide rock-paper-scissors competition, part of a student section training focused on sportsmanship, leadership and positive school spirit. Students also created a video on sportsmanship, produced by Oskaloosa Video Production students. The activities encouraged collaboration beyond school rivalries, reinforcing the shared expectation to cheer for one’s own team, respect opponents and create a welcoming atmosphere at athletic events.
